The Opportunity
The first floor of our clients’ home was dark, compartmentalized, and had not been updated in over 30 years. They always loved the modern farmhouse look and wanted a bright, inviting kitchen where they could entertain their family and friends.
The Outcome
To expand the space, we removed a wall between the kitchen and former dining room. We then converted the rarely-used living room into the new dining room and created a wall of windows on the back of the house. All of the wooden features in the space, including the shelving and custom hood and island, are a sunwashed gray stained hickory. Two shiplap walls are featured behind the hood and built-in desk space to add to the modern farmhouse feel.
