Horton’s Kids X-Mas Shop

For our next Case Cares initiative, we have partnered this holiday season with Horton’s Kids to collect toys for their annual Xmas Shop. Xmas Shop is one of Horton’s Kids holiday programs where hundreds of the at-risk children they serve come to their Community Resource Center, pick out a toy and celebrate the holidays.

Starting Monday, November 26th, and running through Wednesday, December 12th, we will have collection boxes located in our Bethesda office,  DC office and Falls Church Design Center. Popular donation items include Lego sets, Paw Patrol toys, Minecraft toys, superhero figurines, basketballs & footballs, Barbies & baby dolls, Shopkins toys, Hatchimals CollEGGtibles, arts & crafts kits, Cowboys, Redskins or Steelers gear, and gift cards to store like H&M, Forever 21 and Zara. All donations should be $25 or less.

Horton’s Kids empowers children growing up in one of DC’s most violent, under-resourced communities so that they graduate from high school ready for success in college, career, and life. They serve 500 children in grades K-12 living in Wellington Park, a neighborhood where 80 percent of adults don’t have a high school diploma and the average annual household income is less than $10,000. With support from committed volunteers, Horton’s Kids’ goal is to change the life trajectory of children by providing academic, youth development, and health and basic needs supports. Their impact is dramatic: in fact, children in Horton’s Kids are twice as likely to graduate from high school. To learn more visit their website.

Thank you in advance for your generosity. Your contributions will help make this holiday season a little brighter for these children in need.
